We spread conflict management theory and peace initiatives around the world. At LPCUWC divide our work into three major areas – training facilitators, organizing the Day Camps and the Annual Conference.

Training Facilitators: We put in great effort in training our members so that they are well equipped with skills to facilitate Conflict Management & Resolution activities of Day Camps and the Annual Conference.

The Day Camps: In the Day Camps that we host, local students from schools in Hong Kong are exposed to basic Conflict Management & Resolution ideas with which they can apply in their daily lives.

The Annual Conference: Of the past 6 annual conferences, the latest 3 were focused on the Mindanao issue of Philippines. We start the organizational process early in the year by working on the participants’ application and fund raising. Training also takes place concurrently. Application forms are sent by post or made available electronically by the end of September to colleges in Philippines. We start processing completed applications by the end of November. The selection of participants is based on a common set of criteria. Of the 40 chosen ones, about half come from region of Mindanao and the rest from other regions of Philippines. Depending on availability, we hold the conference in Philippines or our college campus.

The conference is completely facilitated by our trained student members. We also bring in external speakers to give their specialized view on various issues. The intention of conference goes by our beliefs to train the participants in initiating and/or supporting their activities related to peace. The success stories of our conference are very encouraging.
