Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund
Description
The Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund is the transport network of the Frankfurt Metropolitan Area in Germany. Its head office is located in Hofheim im Taunus. It is currently the second largest transport network in terms of area covered and was the largest in the world at the time of its foundation in 1995.The RMV is a transportation association operated by 15 counties, 11 independent cities and the Bundesland of Hesse. Its area covers large parts of Southern Hesse, Central Hesse and parts of Eastern Hesse, as well as the city of Mainz in the Rhineland-Palatinate. The Frankfurter Verkehrsverbund, covering the Rhine-Main area, was incorporated into the RMV.It manages investment in and fares for the Frankfurt U-Bahn and the Rhein-Main S-Bahn.
