We are the department for the Major Developmental and Stem Cell Biology in the Master Molecular Bioscience at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. The development of a living organism form a single cell is a spectacular process. It represents a masterpiece of temporal and spatial coordination of gene expression, of cellular events and communication between many different cell and tissue types.

On 8th and 9th of December our popular Bertalanffy lecture series takes place, which is aimed at student to provide a better understanding of integrative approaches in systems oriented biology both to pupils from Heidelberg and to scientists on campus.
For the fourth time the Centre for Organismal Studies organises the yearly COS Party with the theme: "SpartaCOS: break free”. There will be a small fee (7 euros) to cover the drinks. You can get your tickets every Tuesday after the COS PhD & Postdoc seminar starting this week. If you feel like bringing something to eat, please do and there will be an award for the best Individual/group costume, so get creative!
