Il en restait deux... Début XXe, depuis le clocher de l'église Notre Dame de Roubaix, les photographes donnent un visage à Roubaix, celui de "la ville aux mille cheminées". Mai 2019, par décision de justice, la cheminée sur la droite du paysage, celle de l'ancienne usine Cavrois-Mahieu de la rue Chanzy, est abattue ! Aujourd'hui, la seule cheminée qui reste intacte dans ce paysage est celle qui se trouve tout à gauche, celle de l'usine Motte-Mossut & Co.
