COMPASSION - Let's talk positively to ourselves and to our kids. RESPECT - Let's listen to each other. COURAGE - Let's teach our kids how to lead a good and happy life in the face of challenge. This video may present it differently, but we are trying to teach our kids the same values - compassion, courage and respect. Our BJJ values apply and direct how we interact with ourselves and each other on the mats and off the mats. As coaches we try to represent these values in our communication with the students and with each other.

When we practice our techniques go slowly, understand the individual movements; as Alex says, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast". When we are breathing at the start and end of classes, visualise the techniques once again in your head, get those extra mental reps happening.

With the first event being burnt out by the sunshine, let’s have a second take and hope for some cooler weather. Here is an opportunity to jump on the mats as a family; as an individual family, and as one big BJJ family to kick off the awesome year to come. Whether you’re kids are brand new to BJJ or have been attending for a while, this workshop is open to all. We open up these workshops to kids of all ages and experience levels as a fun introductory session to BJJ skills, rules and etiquette, the team, and the gym environment. It is a great way for new kids and parents to become accustomed to the gym, standard class structure and gym rules; & help all parents understand what BJJ is like to practice. A fun session aimed at teaching you some of the new BJJ topics we’ll cover through the term as well as some games, skills, and drills we’ll be using in the classes. Discover a new way to play with your kids, help them to train outside of classes, and learn a little about BJJ – a fun, challenging, and inclusive session.
