Gymnast Connie Hurrell (Year 5) performed at the National Grades Gym competition in Melksham this weekend. Connie, who is just 9 years old, competed at 'National Grade 4' against 70 other gymnasts aged between 9 and 13, and finished an amazing 10th with a distinction! Connie also found out last week that she has been accepted into the Devon Elite Gymnastics Squad. Fabulous news, well done Connie!

Our Lower 6 Geographers spent four days exploring the beautiful landscape of Snowdonia last weekend on their annual fieldtrip. Work included looking at human geography fieldwork techniques, exploring upland Glaciation, looking at features of lowland Glaciation (Kames and Eskers) and measuring till cliffs on the North Wales coast to find evidence of direction of ice sheet flow. Not forgetting a huge roast dinner and plenty of cake on the Sunday!

Another fantastic Forest School session yesterday - the sun was shining and our little explorers did some pond dipping and minibeast hunting, made their very own stick people and created creatures and faces with clay. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the fire and finished the session with a story at base camp - Stick Man by Julia Donaldson!

More great Netball being played, this time from our U11 teams against Stockland Academy yesterday. Our A team won an impressive 24-5 (although this score was not representative of the quality of the game - it was tightly contested up the court, but our shooters were on fire!). The B team had a tougher time, losing 4-6, but played really well and didn't give up.
