Jon Rycroft, Maynard Tennis Coach, is offering a fun 6 week beginner ladies tennis course commencing Tuesday 25th April 2017 between 8.40am and 9.50am at Victoria Park Tennis Club, Exeter, 5 minutes drive from the school.
It is open to Maynard mums and their friends and is designed for beginners and adults that have played a little bit or are rusty and cannot serve.
Places will be limited to 8. There is also some spaces in the intermediate group which runs at the same time.
Cost £11 for non-members and £7 for VP Members to be paid upfront.

Work included looking at human geography fieldwork techniques, exploring upland Glaciation, looking at features of lowland Glaciation (Kames and Eskers) and measuring till cliffs on the North Wales coast to find evidence of direction of ice sheet flow. Not forgetting a huge roast dinner and plenty of cake on the Sunday!Gymnast Connie Hurrell (Year 5) performed at the National Grades Gym competition in Melksham this weekend. Connie, who is just 9 years old, competed at 'National Grade 4' against 70 other gymnasts aged between 9 and 13, and finished an amazing 10th with a distinction! Connie also found out last week that she has been accepted into the Devon Elite Gymnastics Squad. Fabulous news, well done Connie!More great Netball being played, this time from our U11 teams against Stockland Academy yesterday. Our A team won an impressive 24-5 (although this score was not representative of the quality of the game - it was tightly contested up the court, but our shooters were on fire!). The B team had a tougher time, losing 4-6, but played really well and didn't give up.We're excited to be hosting the Explore Law Exeter Event run by The University of Law (Exeter) on Weds 10 May. This event is for year 10, 11 and 12 students from all schools and is aimed at giving them an insight into law. It will include a taster workshop, a next steps talk and a Q&A session. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the fire and finished the session with a story at base camp - Stick Man by Julia Donaldson!Transport Information - The Maynard SchoolWe've expanded our bus routes again! Now our Ottery St Mary bus travels to Honiton for school pick up and drop off.

Our U14 basketball team took part in the Dynamik National Schools Tournament yesterday and won 53-39 against very strong opposition from Bristol Metropolitan Academy. As regional winners they are now through to the next round of the competition which will take place later this term!
