NAPS-EMU HOLDS DRUG ABUSE/MENTAL DISORDERS AWARENESS The Nigerian Association of Pharmacy Students (NAPS-EMU) had the maiden edition of its awareness program tagged drug abuse and mental disorders. This was an interface between the members of the association and the entire EMU community, an avenue was created for everyone to check their blood pressure and pulse rate for free. In addition to that, questionnaires where given to people to fill in order to ascertain how well informed they are about drug abuse and mental disorders. Advices where also given to members of the public on how to manage stress as students where stress is a commonplace. Handbills where also given out which highlighted commonly abused drugs such as sedatives, antibiotics, nicotine, analgesics, cannabis sativa (weed) and contraceptives. Stands were mounted at the faculty of pharmacy and at the central lecture hall where these services were carried out. The event reached its high point with a procession from the Atatürk square to Basket 2, then to the communications faculty from where a detour was taken to the faculty of Business and Economics and then back to the central lecture halls. Indeed it was an eventful outing.
