Bistro Johann Franck is a  restaurant on main square in Zagreb, serving delicious international and traditional domestic food "with a twist".  Bistro Johann Franck is a restaurant situated on Main Square on the second floor of the Johann Franck city Cafe which was originally opened in 1931.

To the present day, it has remained an iconic institution of Zagreb, where the scents of hot beverages, as well as offered newspapers and magazines, were shared by both, the common, and anonymous visitors, and distinguished names of cultural, artistic, sporting, entertainment and political life of the city.

The “Old Lady” remained for decades the largest center of social life. Writers, actors and singers were seeking inspiration within her walls, sharing space with traditional lady sellers from nearby street market Dolac. Maybe this diversity was the reason the legendary Oscar Academy Award winner producer Orson Welles loved to sit and sip his coffee here.

In our restaurant we offer a wide range of delicacies, from traditional Croatian dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients from the nearby Dolac market and in cooperation with Zagreb county organic farms, to exclusive specialties from the master workshops of our award-winning chefs.
