Čarobni svijet - International Kindergarten Zagreb „Čarobni svijet“ („Magical world“) is a kindergarten where every child can find its place.
Our kindergarten has a big front lawn, filled with lots of interesting things to explore. This fenced area is perfect for our everyday physical exercise.  Some just enjoy an opportunity for sunbathing and catching some fresh air. Our young scientists can practice their knowledge of meteorology, biology, physics and sociology here.

Ground floor is home to our younger group, the “Caterpillars”. Older kids, the “Butterflies”, reside on the first floor. Both groups have their own play room, dining room and bathroom. Each room is adjusted to suit the needs of the children.
So, what do we do here?
Well, first you should know that we talk in English. We do not have special language classes; we use English in our everyday activities. This is the way we learn our native tongue, so this method of teaching is closest to the children.
Our program might be close to what you would expect from a kindergarten. We assist them with intellectual, physical, social and emotional development. But we do not force our curriculum on the children. They participate in the creation of it, sometimes unknowingly, and can change it if they find something else they would rather explore. By observing and noticing the children’s mood and interests, we can provide topics that are both interesting and educational. Since our groups are intentionally smaller than usual, we have time for individual work. This brings us closer to the kids and we get to know them better. There’s time to listen to their stories, to give them comfort if needed, and to talk about their special interests. And this is the part where we get to learn something. This cooperation helps us to grow together in happiness and joy, and to overcome any and all difficulties.

Don’t think that parents are excluded from all of the above.
At the end of every day parents find out everything they want to know about their child’s day, and can even talk about their day…if they want  Talking and joking with teachers is not only allowed, but encouraged, because it helps children to feel comfortable and safe in the kindergarten if they see that their parents are on friendly terms with the staff.
