Jay Danley brings his guitar playing & composition skills to Ethiojazz & mixes in his own influences of modern Jazz fusion. Ethiojazz fuses the traditional scales of Ethiopia with influences of Latin & Jazz music. Its creation took place in the late 1960's & immediately embraced some of the modern trends in Jazz particularly in it's use of electric instruments. The most famous musician in the style is also its creator Ethiopian born percussionist Mulatu Astatke whose music can be heard on the very popular "Les Ethiopiques" recording series & the Jim Jarmusch film "Broken Flowers".
