D & D Electric Ltd has been in business since 1977 taking care of all electrical need from home, agricultural and commercial.  D & D Electric started in 1977 as a partnership of Don McKay & the late David Turnbull. We had worked together for several years for a Woodstock firm which produced auto parts and pipe. We learned many valuable industrial maintenance skills there before moving out on our own working for many industrial firms doing maintenance and machine installation along with plant additions. The untimely passing of Mr. Turnbull in 1982 left the business to be purchased and operated by Mr Don McKay. In 1983 a corporation was formed and D&D Electric Ltd was now owned by Don & Carol McKay. With the addition of staff and the involvement of more family members D&D grew and began to expand into the construction industry. Today we are now involved in water & waste water treatment projects in regards to power distribution, standby power, control & telemetering installations. We commonly do standby power design and installation for systems from 5-5000KW needs using gas, natural gas, diesel and solar power sources. We have now drawn an alliance with a telemetering firm to better support the needs of our customers and utilities in the water and waste water industry. Over the years, D & D has been a fixture in the business community around Tavistock.
