Post by: Scott Campbell Another Pontiac Archives find. The crowd is apparently taking in a worship service in 1973 - most likely for Shawville's centennial year. Sharing the photo for a good look at the grandstand in the background...I've heard plenty of people remember it at Shawville Fair time.

Post by: Scott Campbell Shawville Fair History Tidbit - I was asked this past weekend, if I remembered a ball field on the fairgrounds...the answer was no, it was before my time. I did know softball had been a highlight event of at least one Shawville Fair. One I did find was in 1939 and a game between Shawville High School and Bryson High School, which Shawville won.

Saturday, March 11th our dedicated fair directors, staff and volunteers attended an E.coli work shop on education and prevention. Sara Knox, Marilyn, Meisner, Stacy Howard, Heather Grant, Angela Sally, Ken Bernard, Josey Bouchard, Kelly King Foster and Cindya Labine Hodgins. We appreciate them giving up their Saturday to do this. Special Thanks to Carp Fair for hosting the workshop and providing lunch, beverages and snacks. We are very fortunate to belong to the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions who work in conjunction with IAFE to provide this no cost workshop to its members.
