Remembering Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum Honoured Member James 'Buster' Brown on his birthday today. Inducted 1980 Track and Field Athlete James "Buster" Brown established provincial records in the 100 yard, and 220 yard races between 1925 and 1932. He was the winner of the R.B. Bennett Cup permanently after three consecutive Alberta Championships. He also won the Blatchford Trophy four years in succession and became its' permanent holder. The highlight of his track career was in 1930 when "Buster" Brown was a member of the Canadian Relay Team which represented Canada at the British Empire Games in Hamilton. The team won a gold medal for Canada in the 440 yards relay event and established a new Canadian record for the 440 yard relay. http://ashfm.ca/component/k2/brown-james

Off the first barrel we have Miss Alberta Highschool Rodeo Kira Schneider teamed up with Jet from Servus Credit Union. Off the second barrel (far left) is 2015 Miss Corornation Ashley Scoville teamed up with Diana from Servus Credit Union. Thank you Todd Wright (Driver) & Darrel Johnson (announcer) of the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association for your help setting this up and handing out penalties for wagon interferance and cutting short the track. Once they are all practiced up, they will team up with members of Servus Credit Union for a Chariot Race! Special Guests from the Rodeo World! - Learn to rope with Innisfail's roping family, the Robinson's - turn on the charm with Miss Alberta High School Rodeo Queen & former Miss Coronation Rodeo Queen - learn about team work and what it's like to drive a chuckwagon with members of the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association This event was completely FREE thanks to sponsorship from Servus Credit Union.
