Once upon a time, there was a school so full of spirit, that they decided to plan a week long celebration. It was declared, that there would be a special 'fairy tale' day for the little ones. So, as the sun rose on the third day, characters from far and wide made their way down the hill and into the halls of the magnificent Junior School. And, they all lived happy ever after.

Carnaval de Québec

Our Grade 7s visited Quebec City last week and took part in a Winter Experience Tour. The girls spent 3 days in Quebec City and had the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities as part of Quebec City’s annual Winter Carnival. While in Quebec City the students had an opportunity to visit the Valcartier Winter Playground and participate in a traditional Sugar Shack dining experience, focusing on the traditions of the early Quebec settlers.

Chinese New Year Celebrations! - This morning our Junior Kindergarten class celebrated Chinese New Year as the summative for their Celebrations Unit of Inquiry. Renren Bai (Jialee and Meilin’s mother) visited the class to present some information about Chinese New Year celebrations. The girls made decorations throughout the week and Renren lent some traditional dresses to Ms. Meadowcroft and Mrs. Brownlie to wear for the occasion. - http://www.elmwood.ca/?p=7132

Here are some photos taken by the Chair of our Father Daughter Gala. It was a magical night full of lovely surprises. Dads and daughters from grades 4-12 danced the night away in a truly spectacular location. Thanks to our amazing Chair of the event, Catherine McLaughlin and all of the volunteers for bringing this vision to life and giving the girls and their fathers such a great experience!
