Tansi Nechisak! (Good day my fellow Indigenous peoples) Many of our First Nations people seeking mental health support through either FNHA's Short term Crisis counselling (off reseve only) or through the Intergenerational Impact of Residential Schools trauma (on and off reserve), are not aware that they can recieve therapies from an approved FNHA mental health provider through telehealth counselling. To date, 44 First Nations in BC have telehealth in their communities where band members can access therapies with a provider approved by FNHA. Indigenous Counselling Services is only one of two First Nations mental health services approved by FNHA north of Kamloops and can provide many mental health therapies through telehealth or in person both on and off reserve in the Thompson-Cariboo-Chilcotin regions. Any Indigenous person with a status number can access this service which is part of our non insured health benefits. Requests for counselling can be made either by private message through this fb page, by calling (778) 482-1063 to request an appointment or by emailing kahkakew@yahoo.com. Indigenous Counselling Services has been providing mental health and addicitons services to BC First Nations since 1991.
