Hey everyone. We just tapped some great beer from Flying Boats; Humpyard Steam Ale at 5.7%ABV and 46 IBU. A brief description of the brewery and beer is provided below. Stop in for a glass and fill your growlers or fill some crowlers. It’s a great transitional beer for this time of the year when winter is almost over and spring is almost here. Who are we? The “Flying Boats” moniker and beer names are a nod to the history of transportation in southeast New Brunswick, including its early aviation, railway, ships and boats, and highway travel. This part of NB has a unique and interesting history that will be celebrated with full bodied and flavourful hand crafted beers that will be tied to these stories. Flying Boats - Humpyard Steam Ale: California Common Ale beer style (aka Steam Ale) – Brewed by the early German settlers in California, this beer is fermented using a Lager yeast but fermented at the low end of ale fermentation techniques. A nice malty caramel flavor balanced with the Northern Brewer hop for moderately hopped beer, with a crisp lager finish. 5.7% ABV and 46 IBUs. The story behind the name: Paying tribute to the Moncton area's railroad heritage with the Humpyard being the connecting hub, where trains where shunted and assembled to all destinations in Eastern Canada.

Our new seasonal, the Marzen is now available at 6.3%. In German, the Marzen refers to “March beer” and originates from Bavaria. It was brewed in March, according to a special recipe that would allow beer to last while he brewing of new beer was forbidden between the 24th of April and the 28th of September due to increased risk of fire in the summer months. Darker than other lagers, it bares a pleasant copper hue. The Marzen has a velvety feel from the combination of the malts and Hallertau hops. Drop in for a 6-pack, growler, crowler or have a glass of Marzen at the bar.

4 ALARM lovers!!! IT IS BACK! We just tapped the 4 Alarm and now all is back to the way it should be. It’s been rough for our 4 Alarm drinkers and we understand. For many, it’s the one reason why they come to the Fill Station and we love you for it, which makes us feel really bad about the wait. The 3 Alarm got us through and was well received, but in the end, nothing can replace the hoppy bliss of the 4 Alarm. Hope to see all you hop heads soon for your growlers and crowlers. Apologies to you all. Take care.

The Schwarzbier is now finished and with great success. It was a great batch this year. We are sad to see it go for another year, but there is always another seasonal right after that brings joy where there was sadness. The new seasonal is the Red Leaf Ale. We usually make a Red Leaf Lager, but this year we decided to make an ale instead. I think it was a good choice. The Red Leaf Ale is deep red in colour, dry hopped with leaf hops, medium in bitterness with a nut-like malt. A wonderful marriage of malt and hops. Drop in for a glass at the bar, fill your growler or get some crowlers. Thats 2 options to bring this tasty beer home. How awesome is that?!?
