Investment opportunities and steer boarding available Are you are a meat lover, but you are getting frustrated with the increasing price of meat? Health is important to you and you want to know what you are eating, but you don't have the room to raise your own cattle? You have come to the right place! At Elsida Farms, we welcome steer boarding! Your steer will be naturally fed, NO hormones! You will get the best meat, and get the most out of your investment!!
How it Works:
1: You invest an estimated $900 to start. We buy a 400-500 pound steer for you and haul it to Elsida Farms.
2: Steer boarding will be at your own risk and we recommend insurance for your steer.
3: We board the steer on our pastures at Elsida Farms. The steer will be fed naturally fed with grass, alfalfa, hay and barley grain. Hormones are not acceptable and will never be used.
4: We recommend that you board the steer for 11 months to gain proper weight for butchering. You can then decide if you would like to sell your steer or if you would like to harvest the meat for yourself. You would then pay for hauling, butchering, inspecting and meat processing.
5: Boarding fee: November-April -$125/month
May-October - $95/month (minimum boarding is 6 months)

Butcher- $600.00
Total: $2,695.00
Based on an 1,100 pound steer when butchered <=> 473 lbs meat at an average of $5.70 per pound of high quality, naturally fed beef.
