#TipTuesday: Mindfulness isn't something that needs to be complicated or difficult. The hard part is actually taking a moment to completely be curious about what is happening right at that moment - maybe it's your morning coffee. How does it smell, taste, look like? Is your mug warm and smooth in your hands? Notice the warm liquid in your mouth and filling your belly. Giving your mind a break from the day to day busy-ness of go go go will in return, benefit your health tremendously. Curious how? What are these benefits? How do you practice? Our next 8-week course begins SEPTEMBER 2018. Stay tuned! Brenna Bellhouse Inner Revolution

Downward Facing Dog - what should it feel like? -Getting your spine in neutral (or, as close to neutral) as possible is the first step. -Most likely, you will have to bend your knees in the beginning, so that you give yourself some slack in the hamstrings. -Move your weight back so that your hands, elbows, shoulders, and hips make a long diagonal line. -Broaden the shoulder blades and feel like you are wrapping your torso firmly with them (external rotation at the shoulder joint), and feel the eyes of your elbow trying to face forward -Lastly, soften your heels towards the ground if you have space, but without compromising your neutral spine position This is my Dad😊. He has been coming to my Wednesday #lunchyoga #innerflow for over 2 years now. I can see his movement change in a positive way, transitioning from asana to asana with more ease, and his strength and flexibility increased. He also reports he feels really good! And whenever he misses class, he actually MISSES class. That's what happens when you practice yoga consistently - your mind, body and spirit crave that time on your mat. Join us sometime if you can! Every Wednesday 12-12:45pm at Inner Revolution.

Taking a moment to stop and notice your breath is a simple yet powerful way to reset, regroup, and ground yourself. This is especially effective if you are feeling reactive, as if you are spinning and cannot gain control over your emotions and mental state (e.g. feeling anxious, feeling panicked). Try closing your eyes and focus on your breathing. Notice your inhales and exhales. If you feel that they are not even, try to even it so that your inhales and exhales flow from one to the other continuously, and in a 1:1 ratio. Remember, breath is life, and you always have your breath to turn to whenever you need to an anchor. #TipTuesday #Mindfulness
