Please read the long description! Welcome to Husky Haven Ontario.

Please take the time to read this post, as it will answer many, if not all your questions about Husky Haven, and our beliefs and "rules" of practice.

Husky Haven Ontario is so many things all rolled into one.

- We breed loving family-orientated dogs,
- We board/dog-sit a variety of Husky and husky mix dogs.
- We offer assistance in training,
- We rescue dogs, and rehome to the right homes
- We assist dogs, and their owners any way we can.
- We provide what we can to those in need,
- We provide information to the best of our knowledge.

*Reasonable offers and our "Asking Price" vs Kijiji*

Before you complain about our asking price on any of our puppies, consider the following:

- The average husky on kijiji goes from $500 - $1500 for a puppy & $0 - $500 for a rehome after 1 yr old
- Typically with kijiji, you buy the puppy/older dog, possibly get the vet papers, and your on your way.
- Most kijiji sellers want the $ and will only provide the basic info needed to get you to buy

We start at $1000, with our Husky pups, and $850 for our mixed pups, for the purpose of weeding out those who just think a husky is pretty, or a puppy is cute. Our rescues & rehomes carry an adoption fee only of $100 - $200 depending on age (over 5 yrs is $100)

These prices are not set in stone, and we will not ask for higher unless there is a valid reason! (additional vet fees, or other very specific fees associated with an individual pup)

Keep in mind the pups we sell have been in ours, and their mothers, care for 2 months, (or longer) while we provide food, shelter, water, and the other basic needs for a puppy, as well as cleanup, and start paper training.

Any rescues require our time, patience, and understanding, occasionally severe intervention.

We include with all of our home bred puppies their:

- First shots, time depending, occasionally 2nd and 3rd shots, (2nd and 3rd are typically due one and 2 months later providing the pup is homed before reaching 3 months)
- Deworming is done,
- All the vet papers,
- Our own starter kit,
- And as much information as you need.
- We also offer basic training and advice as needed.
- And your always welcome to come for a visit anytime.

On top of all that, we hold an annual BBQ that all our pups and their families, as well as our rescues and their families, are invited to.

So a reasonable offer should be an idea of what your willing to invest in the new baby of the home, who will be with you anywhere from 10 - 20 years on average smile emoticon

***If you still want to complain and think we ask too much, think again. We are not making a huge profit, if any, from selling these puppies, or rehoming a rescue, however we are ensuring they are placed in the RIGHT home!***

These 2 Siberian Huskies are looking for their new forever homes. Together or separately! Apollo, 5 year old intact male, with up to date shots, is an amazingly handsome boy. Full of energy, and lots of love to give. With his "Red" & white markings, and golden yellow eyes, this boy turns heads anywhere he goes. Aurora, 3 year old spayed female, with up to date shots, is a beautiful girl. Full of patience, and tons of companionship to share. With her blue eyes, contrasted by her white coat, she is sure to turn heads as well. Both dogs are social with other dogs, and children 3+ years old. As we do not have cats, nor have either come from homes with cats, we cannot give an assessment on how they will be with cats. Each will do best in a husky experienced home. $200 each to adopt. ($300 should anyone be interested in both together) If you think you have a forever home to offer, and are interested, pls contact us directly.

For all those following the puppies... they finally have their first vet appointment tomorrow... all 8 pups, and their mom will be getting dewormed. Since most of the consensuses has been preferable to the pups having shots before they leave, we will be getting 7 of the 8 puppies their first vaccinations before they go to their new homes. (#8 will be vaccinated later, as she will be staying with mom) We do not charge extra to include the shots. At this time we have 4 girls and 1 boy looking for homes. $650 all inclusive per pup. More information as to who is still available, can be found on our website, www.huskyhavenontario.ca

Before you decide to call Husky Haven a "Puppy Mill" please do your homework as to what exactly a "Puppy Mill" is, and what they do to be considered as such. The Canadian Kennel Club Policy Statement – Definition of a Puppy Mill (Effective March 2002) "The term “Puppy Mill” generally refers to a high-volume, sub-standard dog-breeding operation, which sells purebred or mixed breed dogs, directly or indirectly to unsuspecting buyers. Some of the characteristics common to puppy mills are: (a) Sub-standard health and/or environmental issues; (b) Sub-standard animal care, treatment and/or socialization; (c) Sub-standard breeding practices which lead to genetic defects or hereditary disorders; (d) Erroneous or falsified certificates of registration, pedigrees and/or genetic background. Note: These conditions may also exist in small volume or single breed establishments." They sell primarily to retail pet shops (usually via a broker), but occasionally sell directly to individual consumers. Dogs are bred solely for profit, with no concern for their physical health or psychological well-being - most are disease-ridden; all are force-bred continuously. They often use "Kennels" or "Farms" in its business name. Dogs' and puppies' are usually in squalid living conditions and are off-limits to the public. If you think you have been to a mill or have seen substandard conditions at a breeders establishment please call your local SPCA/Humane Society IMMEDIATELY to report what you saw. Only witnessed accounts can be reported.
