PARTY PROGRAM Our grade 9 students participated in a thought-provoking experience as they witnessed first-hand the possible consequences of poor decision making. The P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth) Program is an injury prevention program designed for grade nine students to help educate them about the consequences of poor decision-making and "risky behaviors’" such as drinking and driving, not wearing a seat belt, and many others. The one day P.A.R.T.Y. program presents a realistic experience and series of discussions about what can happen when a person is injured or disabled. The experience-based portion of the program is made as realistic as possible and includes a simulated mock crash scenario with appearances from ambulance personnel, fire, and law enforcement services. In addition there are presentations from various Health and Safety Groups (Addictions, Rehab, Traffic, and EMS)..

Students in Ms. Huber’s FNMI Option class are making Medicine Pouches! The students had a lot of fun and learned about all the uses of the Medicine Pouch! Medicine pouches would carry herbs and/or medicine (sage, tobacco, cedar, sweetgrass to smudge and give back to Mother Earth) that the carrier would use to connect with the spiritual world, the Creator. The bag could also include personal possessions such as belongings of family members or special mementos.
