This is our local page for Montreal and area where we can help you directly. Our National Facebook page is "Save Wicca". Our group consists of a legal team and animal advocates who all came together over the very public case of Wicca, a beloved 5 yr old American Stadfforshire Terrier AKA a Pit Bull who was a victim of breed discrimination by the city of Montreal. Despite a lengthy court battle, tremendous public outrage and media attention, Wicca was killed by the city of Montreal on July 26th, 2012 over a minor incident. A day WE WILL NEVER FORGET! This foundation has been created in her honour so that no other innocent victims of breed discrimination or unconstitutional canine laws ever undergo such an injustice.

This is not dog related but it happened in our area a year ago and we are hoping to get the message out. It involved someone jogging but it could just as easily been someone walking their dog. Dogs welcome in 3 Quebec provincial parks

Beautiful Roxy is finally here! Surrendered by her young owner in Val D'Or because he couldn't afford to feed her any longer, this 2 yr old found herself in a tough spot. Val D'Or has BSL (breed specific legislation) so the SPCA there couldn't adopt her out and they are out of the way, so very few people willing to drive there and adopt her. Thanks to Freedom Drivers, she has found her way to Montreal. We are short on foster homes though so we need to find her a home ASAP! She will be get her shots and be spayed before hand. She is cuddly, sweet and loves people. Do you know anyone who might be interested?

If you follow us on this page, you most probably know Wicca's story and how she was taken from her master Chris. What you may not know was that shortly before everything happened, Chris was sick. He went to the hospital and was sent home with meds being told that he was OK. He went home and to sleep. Very unlike Wicca, she sat next to him on the bed but instead of cuddling up she was relentlessness in her wanting Chris to wake up. He finally did and realized that something was really wrong. He went back to the hospital where he spent the next month. So this latest memorial to this beautiful girl seems so appropriate. (The foundation started in her name being the first!) Chris had her tattooed facing out to that they are looking at each other when he looks in the mirror. THANK YOU to Isabelle Normandin from Expressions Tattoos in Vaudreuil, Quebec (450-424-6969) for doing both Chris and Wicca honor with this amazing work.
