What a fitting way to send the old barn off in style with 48 teams participating in the "Close The Barn Doors" Bonspiel over the past week. Curlers from 14 years of age to 84 laughed, played, drank, danced and reminisced about all the many good times had in this old building over the years. Many club members just dropped in for one last burger and a beer, shared some memories and sent it off in their own way. As we move forward into our new clubhouse in the fall a HUGE THANK YOU has to go out to the hundreds of club members who have contributed thousands and thousands of volunteer hours over the past 66 years to build the club to the successful point it is at today. We definitely could not have done it without you!!!!!!! Thanks.

Last Closing Bonspiel for the Chilliwack Day Ladies Curling Club in the old barn. This signals the end of an era where these wonderful ladies kept many curlers well fed over many years manning our snack bar and kitchen as volunteers. They have provided the club immeasurable value over this period and the club can not begin to express our gratitude. With a full functioning kitchen operated by the club in the new building you will have to find other things for you to volunteer your time in helping out around the club. So THANK YOU LADIES for the wonderful service over all those years and hopefully you will have many years of just coming to curl to socialize with your friends and fellow club members without having to volunteer your time under our terms. WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Good luck to Everly Royea and Madeline Britz who along with their team mates are battling hard at the BC U-18 Curling Championships in Salmon Arm. Although they started with 3 losses they have battled back with 3 straight wins. If they win their last round robin game today they will at the minimum be in a tie breaker. Good luck and curl well girls!!
