Jennifer Johnson is passionate about all things fitness and nutrition. Jenn loves running relays and half-marathons with her running team, "The Grid Road Girls," teaching and leading biology tutorials, and cooking healthy, delicious meals as well as personal training and leading exercise workshops at the Yara Centre. Jenn's goal in life is to inspire those around her to achieve their exercise and movement goals as well as to inspire them to make a permanent change towards healthier lifestyles, no matter what stage of life you are coming from -- exercise is for you!

Make exercise simple and move everyday! Exercise doesn't require a fancy gym membership, just 10 minutes per/day of strength yoga flow or bootcamp can help you get into a healthy exercise habit. Move every day and don't get bogged down in busyness - we all have commitments but we all must take care of our bodies in order to be the healthiest and most effective versions of ourselves. Two suggestions: 1) use this yoga app for excellent short yoga flows: The Yoga Studio by GAIAM 2) do a 10 minute bootcamp first thing in the morning (see sample in comments)

Healthy eaters Don't skip meals! Your metabolism functions best on 3 meals and healthy snacks through out the day.

Healthy eating habits: Eat protein and vegetables for breakfast to start your metabolism on the right foot. Sample: baked eggs (4 eggs, zucchini, kale, 1/2 c of cottage cheese, tomatoes, red pepper s&p). Mix all ingredients in a baking dish and bake for 30min at 350F. I mix it the night before and put it in the oven to bake while I'm getting ready.
