We knew this day would arrive, but no one could have guessed it would be this early! The trails are now CLOSED. The warm weather has taken too much of a toll. HUGE thanks to our dedicated groomer operators and volunteers who made everything possible. We still have hope we can recover with more snow and cold weather :) Until then, we are still working behind the scenes on equipment and the trails. Everyone is welcome to join us on Wednesday evening, 7:30pm at the clubhouse to help with equipment maintenance. Thanks for supporting Heart of Ontario! #HOOTrails

Groomers were out last night getting the trails packed and set up! Big thanks to the operators, trails are looking great! We managed to use the brush bar on the E108 to clean up some of the overgrown brush and branches. Volunteers will be out today replacing signage stolen during the thaw and inspecting the rest of the trails. #HOOTrails

Volunteers! We need your help! We are looking for volunteers this Sunday to help clear a overgrown section of the H3. This section desperately needs brushing before the snow returns! Meet us at the clubhouse at 9:00am. ATVs are welcome and dry warm boots are a must! Please bring a lunch or snacks. Come for the day or for a few hours. High school students are invited to come out and get your volunteer hours. See you Sunday #HOOTrails

Well that went downhill rather quickly!! Unfortunately the trails took a major beating with the warm up and rain. We are basically starting from scratch. I’m sure this goes without saying, but PLEASE stay off the trails and respect the landowners. This small amount of snow received tonight is not enough to protect the wheat fields! We are ready for winter to return, and groomers will be back out to begin packing once we get more snow. #HOOtrails

We have closed the trails with the warm weather and rain. If we are lucky hopefully the base will survive and we will be back in business in no time! Please respect the closed trails and keep checking in for trail condition updates. #HOOTrails

Tomorrow is Meeting night!! Come on over to the Sunderland Legion tomorrow at 7:30pm for the first monthly meeting of 2018. Volunteers have spent many hours over the past month with re-routes to get trails off roads and improve the trail network! All 3 groomers out again tonight working their magic and cleaning things up before the warm up. Let’s hope it’s short lived and we don’t lose the trail base. The snow is very thin in spots and we desperately need more snow!! Please continue to do your snow dance!! Stay tuned for trail condition updates in the coming days. Wednesday nights from 7:30pm we are meeting at the Clubhouse to complete maintenance on the equipment and groomers. Everyone is welcome! #HOOTrails

There’s more yellow on the map today!! Thanks to our groomer operators who have put lots of time in this week inbthe groomers! As a friendly reminder folks, please STAY on the trails. There are multiple fields with tracks all over. We are on thin ice with this and we will be running lots of roads if this keeps up. Please pass this along and ride safe! #HOOTrails

Happy New Year!! The crew has been working away packing more trails!! The H7 is now limited! We were also out inspecting the B103 to Georgina. Lots of brush and small trees were cleared. It’s freezing up well this year but it desperately needs more snow!! There is gravel starting to show through on the E108, so try and take it easy on the flipper. Please keep doing your snow dance! We have one groomer down and volunteers are busy getting it fixed up ready to get back on the snow. We are still meeting Wednesday’s at 7:30pm at the Clubhouse to complete maintenance on the equipment. Everyone is welcome to come out and lend a hand. Let’s hope 2018 brings us lots of snow and endless trails 🙂 #HOOTrails

It has been a busy few days at Heart of Ontario. We have been working hard trying to get one of the groomers back on the snow that is currently in the shop. Thanks for everyone’s help and hours spent working at this. We have also been out packing trails and opening gates. HUGE thanks to the landowner and volunteers today who were out on the H7 making the trail through a field that still has corn. Groomers can now go out and pack the H7. Please be patient folks things are shaping up nicely! We would also ask riders to please stay between the stakes! There are a few fields with tracks everywhere. Let’s not lose these trails we have worked so hard to get!! Groomers are out tonight.. keep an eye out, and give them a thumbs up:) #HOOTrails
