Founded in 2009, the Bonavista Horticultural Society (BHORTS) is a  formally incorporated not-for-profit organization. Bonavista Horticultural Society inc was founded 2009 to protect valuable horticultural assets of historical importance, revitalize horticultural features that play a key role in the unique sense of place offered in Bonavista's historic neighbourhoods, educate the public on horticulture (traditional and modern), and work on beautification though horticulture throughout the whole of Bonavista on both private and public lands.
