I think my ponies are a wee bit on the loco side. The Hubby was out in the tractor, pushing a mountain of snow off the driveway and out into their pasture - 'cause that's the only place we have room for it. Guess where they were? Right in front of the tractor trying get the teeny tiny bits of hay and grass that were scraped up along the way. Never mind that they have 1+ bales of beautiful, green, nutrient rich hay out there for their dining pleasure!

I LOVE the yearling Mohawk we have going on here. Of course, I love the colt it's attached to also!

I was out checking the condition on two of my "problem" mares. One doesn't hold her weight very well in the winter and the other doesn't seem to be able to keep it off no matter the season. Agawate/Shade and Molly are doing great! Of course I checked that the halter wasn't too tight on Eclipse. His dam, the ever delightful Firebolt, had to have a visit too.

As of an hour ago I'm no longer in the pig breeding business. It was a good run and I will miss the excitement of seeing the new litters of piggies arrive. That being said, we just can't do the work anymore. We will still be feeding pigs for our freezers and we'll have old Boaris until the end of his days. 🐷🐽🐖

Eclipse - being handsome!

I went for a walk after doing chores because I hadn't seen Aarson or Molly for a day or so. They are doing great and will be going into winter on the pleasantly plump side.

Eclipse. Already 3 months old and getting so big. He is such a sweet natured baby. ❤️

We said farewell to these two cohorts today. I know they are going to have amazing lives. Thank you Leah and John for taking them on and Pat for helping get them into the trailer. I have a bunch of mixed emotions -as I always do when saying so-long.

Aarson on the hill. Not bad for a "camera" photo. And Eclipse being Eclipse. It doesn't show very well in this photo, but his smoky black colour is almost all in. Pretty much just his saddle area to shed out.

Little guy is getting his big-boy colour. He's gonna be a beauty. And his first tie lesson. He's getting really good on the lead rope. 😍

Morning halter and lead lesson. He's coming along beautifully. Getting so big already! Yoshi is "helping" her friend.

Proof positive that I did get a halter on this little guy today. His head is so small that an adjustable foal halter is too big, even at the smallest it will go. Have to figure something out to keep the ends away from his eyes. In these photos we are practicing on the face and off the face. Hopefully next go around I won't need help. 😃
