FAST MOON CHIC Seems like an eternity since we were with the late FAST MOON CHIC, yet other times like it was yesterday since his passing in July 2014. Today, February 20th would have been another birthday. When GIVEMALICKIN passed away in 2000, hubby Doug was on the hunt for another black stallion, by a leading barrel sire. Marthas Six Moons was the leading barrel sire at the time, which is why Doug searched through the AQHA print out looking for a black stallion by him. Doug located FAST MOON CHIC in Cave Creek, AZ and yes, the lady would let us lease him, but was not ready to sell him. It wasn't until 2008 that she allowed him to become ours. The year that his first Canadian foal crop ran in Alberta, it was clear that his colts wanted to be barrel horses & soon became a Leading Alberta Barrel Sire! There are still several of his offspring running and new ones will be in competition yet this year. We are honored to be standing an outstanding young son of his, SR Chics Honor out of a daughter of Jet Of Honor, a Leading National Barrel Sire. We also have 6 FAST MOON CHIC broodmares. His legacy will continue to live on! Happy Birthday Chic we hope you rest in peace smiling down on your babies. You are gone, but not forgotten.
