TITOV BUNKER - Atomska ratna komanda - D0

Titov bunker u Konjicu godinama je bio dobro čuvana tajna. Građen je u tajnosti od 1953. do 1979. godine, pod nazivom DO ARK da bi se u slučaju atomske katastrofe tu sklonili bivši predsjednik bivše Jugoslavije Josip Broz Tito i njegovih 350 najbližih suradnika. Ovaj impozantni prostor, betonske masivne konstrukcije, leži na površini od oko 6.500 kvadratnih metara, oko 300 metara ispod površine zemlje.

Bunker je sagrađen s namjerom da u slučaju (atomskog) rata funkcionira kao središte vojnih operacija (sklonište za "Štab vrhovne komande") i sklonište za Tita, njegovu obitelj i najbliže suradnike. Ovaj objekt, koji podsjeća na labirint, s više od stotinu prostorija i potpuno sačuvanim inventarom (sastoji se od brojnih rezidencijalnih prostora, dvorana za konferencije, ureda i "predsjedničkog bloka"), trebao je osigurati nesmetan život za 350 ljudi tijekom šest mjeseci. Do 90-ih godina izgradnja (u koju je investirano 4,6 milijardi američkih dolara) i postojanje ovog bunkera bili su najstrože čuvana vojna tajna.

TITO`S BUNKER - Atomic war command - D0

Yugoslav army built between 1953 and 1979. This shelter occupies a space of 6.500m2 and consists of 12 connected blocks. It resembles a complicated labyrinth, with residential areas, conference rooms, offices, strategic planning rooms, and other functional areas.

The construction and existence of this bunker was kept secret until the 1990s, when ARK was finally revealed. ARK was built as a military bunker by the former Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) to function as the Main Centre for Military Operations or Military Command and as the shelter for President Josip Broz Tito, his family and his closest associates in case of war.

Facility D-0, Tito's Atomic War Command was built to accommodate and protect 350 people and enable the successful management and leadership of the armed forces in the event of nuclear war. (Former Yugoslav Defense Ministry)
