Bible Study Serie 13 Resisting Temptation. Jesus taught His disciples to understand the pulls of human nature at work within them: “That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness (lustful sexual desire through wild living), an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness” (Mark 7:20-22).These attitudes, pulls of the flesh, and wrong patterns of conduct are at work within everyone. They leave us fertile for temptation by Satan, the master “tempter” (Matt. 4:3). Some Christians even call some of these characters of the flesh with connotation that modern mankind accepts, like dating, selection, tasting the pudding before buying, many other names ,an excuse to fornicate. The apostle James explained how temptation can turn into sin: “Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death” (Jms. 1:14-15). In short, you must put out wrong thoughts and attitudes before they lead to action. Do not ease up or assume victory before these feelings are gone! The apostle Peter added, “Be SOBER, be VIGILANT; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith”—this means you must know the true faith—“knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world” (I Pet. 5:8-9). James added, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (4:7). You are not alone in struggling to overcome sin. All people face the same problems. Understand! “All have sinned” (Rom. 3:23) and “sin is the transgression of the law” (I John 3:4). All have broken God’s Law. But God promises that “sin shall not have dominion over you” (Rom. 6:14). You must fight Sin or perish says Jesus Luke 13;1-5. When you feel like sin chipping in, battle! RESIST! After you have been truly converted, use God’s power within you. Call out to Him for help and always remember that you must, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded” (Jms. 4:8). Fulfilling this in your life is not an overnight process. It takes effort and discipline. Wemust practice self control as Christians .Make every effort says Jesus Christ Luke 13:24 says He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Jesus is very serious about people repenting or they will perish. He died removing your sins now live a sin free life. It is possible. People say it is not/the says we were built to able to resist temptation. Because we want to satisfy the flesh we hide under defeatist attitude. Zechariah and Elizabeth were called righteous. Luke 1:5 5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blameless. These people were humans and in the new testament before the death of Jesus Christ for you and me, it means God has many today also righteous. Make effort and obey God’s commands. Get married to remove the sin of sexual sins, be with one partner, do not changing men and women (adultery and lasciviousness) There are no exemption to God’s commands, leaders and converts, unbelievers will be judged according to what they have done. Revelation 20:12. Ecclesiastes 12;13-14. Do not let any false teaching or prophets make you become weak, lukewarm or proud. Your eternal life is at stake...Praise God. BIBLE STUDY 11 SUNDAY SERMON....31ST JULY. Hebrews 12:4-7 God disciplines those he loves...Sufferings is part of God trying to build His Spiritual character in us...Endure hardship.. .satan teaches consume, seize, claim and steal it all, you are smart by doing this. Segregates, hate, receive it all, be wise and use force to please yourselves....Now the world is listening and there is hate everywhere...God is saying give.give.give and love your neighbor but satan says cheat, steal destroy your neighbor....Now the world suffering continues for some and we have no peace. The Government of God is coming soon, where there will be no pains, cheating, stealing no destruction....Jesus is bringing this government back to earth. A world abused for more than 6000 yrs needs peace and a paradise returned....But Repentance and having the character of God is needed to be a citizen of this Kingdom that can never be removed.... JESUS SUFFERED TO SAVE YOU...ISAIAH 53.... By His stripes we are healed.... Hebrews 2:10-11, said God suffered Jesus Christ His son to make Him matured in character. Hebrews 5:8 also shows that Jesus learnt obedience with the things He suffered. Remember the word of Jesus and do not be fooled, Matthew 19:16-26 The rich young ruler refused to part with the wealth of this world to follow Jesus Christ, and lost his place in the Kingdom of God.... Sufferings is a design from God to restructure our spiritual character because of the fall of mankind.....The punishment of Adam was the first example of this.Genesis 3:17-19.The earth became hard for Adam to suffer to eat food was when it started.That was the beginning of sufferings......The devil is preaching riches and wealth of this world and many are believing him..He tell some to grab.;grab..and grab it all..Baiting many to refuse and loose their place in the Kingdom of God..He is making us carnal...Romans 8:7 says a carnal mind is an enemy, or hostile to God and will never obey Him.....Telling you praying to be rich is the key....But God has allowed suffering to build our spiritual character again to be like Him.Actually God is reproducing Himself in His obedient children. To be obedient and become like Christ Jesus.Ephesians 2:10.......... satan is using suffering to deceive and punish some and segregate others....To hate many others.Remember How he used wealth to bait Jesus away from Kingdom Kingship???
