DAY TRIP TO MAFFRA - Our bus trip to Maffra began when we left the Village at 9.30am on Tuesday the 28th March, with the promise of a beautiful sunny, autumn day ahead. The bus driver was a cheery fellow who was kind to all and kept us amused with his banter. Beryl and I handed out a small bag of ‘lollies’ to each one of our residents taking part in the trip. We arrived at the Automobile Museum Maffra at about 10.25am, unloaded and piled into the massive building which held an amazing display of old Holden vehicles and memorabilia, motor bikes, utes, kids tricycles etc. The museum was staffed by two gentlemen who invited us to ‘help ourselves’ to the kitchen area, where we make tea and coffee to our taste. The highlight of the kitchen was a ‘fridge within a fridge’, constructed from an old petrol bowser which, when first opened surprised us with a small caravan type fridge inside. All clad with Golden Fleece petrol logo, painted steel. We then went on to the Maffra Sports Club where we enjoyed a sumptuous meal of our own choosing. Staff treated us like royalty and we were made to feel most comfortable. What an enjoyable day we all had and I’m sure that most would have slept as well as I, after the trip.

'Living with Colour'- Residents join Marg in the lounge as she explores the realms of colour therapy and how these factors impact on our day to day living. Color therapy, healing art, crystals and gemstones use the visible spectrum of light and color to affect a person’s mood and physical or mental health. Each color falls into a specific frequency and vibration, which many believe contribute to specific properties that can be used to affect the energy and frequencies within our bodies.

Residents recently took a scenic drive along the 'The Great Alpine Road' to the Nullamunjie Olive Grove situated on the lower slopes of Mount Stawell on the banks of the Tambo River at Tongio. Tongio is the district between Swift’s Creek and Omeo in the mountains of eastern Victoria. The climate is very similar to that of Tuscany with hot summers and cold winters and perfect for growing olives in East Gippsland. The olives are taken fresh from the grove to the press and processed within hours of being plucked from the tree. Nullamunjie Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a robustly fruity oil with excellent complexity of flavours and length of pepper, and a beautiful herbaceous aroma. Residents enjoyed a delicious lunch with a glass of wine on the vine-shaded deck set among the olive trees and surrounded by a superlative view of the Tambo Valley. Just another lifestyle trip at Clifton Waters Village, Wy Yung.
