Description
To promote the Victor Harbor region Victor Harbor is one of the most popular coastal playgrounds in South Australia and has been a favourite holiday destination with families since the late 1800s. Located 80 kilometres, just under an hours drive, due south of Adelaide, South Australia, the town overlooks the beautiful Encounter Bay with a coastline featuring the huge rock outcrop of The Bluff and the very popular Granite Island.
Granite Island is home to the world's only daily Horse Drawn Tram service that began operating in 1886.
Many visitors travelling from the eastern states along the Great Ocean Road access Victor Harbor by crossing the Murray River at Wellington. The proximity to Kangaroo Island, to the River Port of Goolwa and to the Southern Wine Region makes this a choice location to base a holiday. Encounter Bay is blessed with a classic Mediterranean climate that makes Victor Harbor a great destination all year round.

Loop de Loop - Santos Tour Down Under Hansgrohe Stage 3 Finish
Watch the cyclists compete around the City of Victor Harbor Loop de Loop course FOUR times, then sprint to the finish line on the Esplanade. Come down early for kids activities including a Decorate Your Bike Competition, and Find the Bikes Trail through Victor Harbor’s MainStreet Precinct starting from 11am until 1:30pm. Professional cyclist will arrive at George Main Road in Victor Harbor at approximately 1.30pm and take the 13km circuit around Victor Harbor FOUR times - five in some places - and finish at Hotel Victor at approximately 2:50pm, followed by presentations until 3.30pm. Bring your chairs and picnic rugs and soak up the atmosphere on Warland Reserve and along the foreshore in Victor Harbor.
