Come celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay (5 June) from today to Sunday and have some rainbow arepas - corn breads of spinach, beetroot and sweet potato. Corn or maize is one of the oldest crops in the world at more than 10,000 years old and is also #GF, so why not have a try!
Our Focus: War on Waste - ABC
Macondo is striving to minimise #waste. We feed our home chooks with our vegie and food scrap waste. One of our staff has big dogs so they get the meat offcuts and scraps. Our big #compost bins in the garden take all the greens waste so we can keep our #gardens happy! Cardboard is #recycled, crates are reused. Bottles and cans go to recycling. We use customer wine bottles for water bottles, or put plants in them for our #green walls! We buy mostly #fresh products but we want to find ways to #avoidplastics altogether in the rest of our supplies.
