Oops! One of our clients found out the hard way that power cords and car doors don't mix. Good thing I keep a universal adapter handy.

We're now in the final days of the Windows 10 free update offer! Before upgrading make sure you check with your system manufacturer that your PC is supported on Windows 10. Don't rely on the Windows 10 upgrade assessment as this doesn't take hardware support into account. Graphics and Wifi are the two main drivers to watch out for, we've had a few clients get caught. No need to panic if your PC isn't supported, Windows 7 support doesn't end until 2020.

Watch out for this one! Yet another fake email, this time claiming to be an electricity bill from AGL. The link leads to a very convincing replica of the AGL website and eventually a ransomware download. These viruses encrypt your business and personal files then demand money to have the files unlocked. The going rate for this particular variant is over $1000 AUD with no guarantee you'll actually get your files back. Antivirus products have a low rate of success against new viruses. Remember to carefully check your emails for anything that seems out of place (the From address on this email was a dead giveaway) and ensure you have a working backup. Two local businesses have already been hit today, make sure yours isn't next!

We've sold an unbelievable number of new systems in the last few months and our biggest order yet has just arrived! In front we have a HP Probook. These are exceptionally built business-grade laptops, so good I ended up buying one myself! On the right is a Dell Optiplex. Small form factor version so it fits nicely on a desk but doesn't lack any trimmings, this one has 8GB RAM and an SSD so it absolutely flies. And on the left are 9 (yes, nine) Intel NUCs. Don't let the size fool you, this configuration has higher specifications than the Optiplex and a tiny form factor. You can even mount them to the back of your monitor. All these systems and more are available by order.
