Suburban Lions Junior Hockey Academy Lions Hockey Academy has been developed for players seeking more training opportunities and individual coaching within the club. The academy will offer specialists skills training and provide an opportunity for a second training session as a team. This program is unique as its been designed by top level coaches and players. The Lions Academy is run by Tarryn Bright, a double Olympian and by Shaun Ray, a well respected state coach and player. Their wealth of knowledge in this field is invaluable.

Junior Pre-Season Clinics School years 5 to 12 The Lions Academy will be offering February/March training sessions for players keen to improve and fine tune skills before grading and the start of the 2017 season. All levels will be catered to, and sessions will focus on the skills the assessors will be looking for at grading. Players are to attend sessions for the school year they will be in for 2017. Players in year 5 and 6 in 2017 are to attend J5/6 sessions, year 7 and 8 in 2017 are to attend J7/8 etc. J5/6: Monday 5pm - 6.00pm (4 sessions) - February 6; February 13; February 20; February 27 J7/8: Tuesday 5pm - 6.15pm (5 sessions - February 7; February 14; February 21; February 28; 7 March (finish at 6pm); J9/10, J11/12 and Goalies: Wednesday 5pm - 6.30pm (5 sessions) - February 8; February 15; February 22; 1 March and 8 March Note: All sessions will be held at Shenton (Lemnos) Turf, Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park. Normal runners or turf shoes to be worn. No footy boots/studs allowed. Mouthguards compulsory. No dogs allowed at Shenton Turf. Cost is $20 per session. Minkey and Cubs (school years 1-4) In February and March 2017 we will run specialised Minkey and Cubs clinics on grass at Tregonning Fields, Verdun Street, Nedlands for our year 1-4 players.
