IN THE SHED: Multi-Function Inverter MIG/MMA Welder

Powerful and portable, the UniMig VIPER 182 Multi-Function Inverter MIG/MMA Welder is the ultimate tool for DIY use or light industrial applications. Take it home today for only $550 – SAVE $44 when you use the discount code MSAVE. The UniMig VIPER 182 Multi-Function Inverter MIG/MMA Welder (Order Code: W244) features the latest IGBT (Insulate Gate Bipolar Transistor) inverter technology. It has a smooth, stable arc characteristic, delivering more efficient performance with greater control for professional-level results. In MIG mode, the VIPER 182 has a stepless voltage dial and wire feed adjustment, making for easy set-up of welding parameters. Moreover, it allows welding with both gas-shielded and gasless wire applications running up to 0.9mm. The MIG-welding current range is 30 - 180 amps. Conversely, in MMA mode, the excellent arc characteristics of the VIPER 182 are enhanced by hot start and arc force. It will run general purpose low hydrogen, cast iron and stainless steel electrodes up to 3.2mm with high-quality results. The MMA-welding current range is 30 - 160 amps. Accommodating wire spools 5kg in size, this UniMig’s Wire Inch gives easy feeding of the wire during set-up without gas wastage. Burn-back leaves the wire out so that it can be adjusted by the operator ready for the next weld. The multi-function welder comes complete with UniMig’s 3-metre Suregrip Series SB15 MIG Torch featuring a Euro-connector, as well as a UNI-FLAME Twin Gauge Argon Regulator. There’s a 2-metre gas hose as standard with this model, plus large 3550 twist-type connectors that won’t burn out. Not compromising on quality, the VIPER 182 features the same all-metal wire drive system used on some of UniMig’s high-spec RazorWeld models. A 10amp plug is fitted as standard and with a 240v single-phase primary input voltage this welding unit is tolerant to variable power supply. Its duty cycle is specified as 10% @ 180 amps. In the name of electrical/environmental safety protection and performance, the VIPER 182 is designed and built to specifications compliant with the AS/NZ 60947.1 Standard and meets the IP21S Rating. It’s fitted with VRD (Voltage Reduction Device) in addition to thermal overload protection for enhanced operator safety. Compact and lightweight at 13.5kg, the UniMig VIPER 182 Multi-Function Inverter MIG/MMA Welder boasts performance and reliability backed by the latest innovations in Inverter technology. Take home the Bench Lathe by Optimum today and SAVE $122 when checking out with the discount code MSAVE! Small in stature but packing quite the punch in performance, the Optimum TU-2004V Bench Lathe is a clever option for smaller-scale work and the ideal introduction to metal-turning for anyone starting out. The Optimum TU-2004V Bench Lathe (Order Code: L687) is driven by a 0.6kW / 0.8Hp 240V motor. Spindle speed is electronically controlled and infinitely variable between its 150 - 2500rpm range. There’s an easy-to-read digital speed display to keep tabs. A spindle direction switch allows the operator to select between forward and reverse for greater versatility. A 100mm-diameter, self-centring 3-jaw chuck with reversible jaws has a running accuracy of 0.04mm. The TU-2004V lathe is equipped with a chuck safety guard — as well as a tool post guard — for the protection of the user. With a spindle bore diameter of 21mm, it’s surprisingly large for a machine of this overall size. This model’s turning capacity is 200mm in diameter and 300mm between centres. In addition, its centre height is 100mm and swing over cross-slide is 140mm, while cross slide travel is 75mm and compound slide travel is 55mm. Optimum’s TU-2004V Bench Lathe has an automatic longitudinal power feed that sports a feed range (Z-axis) of 0.1 - 0.2mm/rev. The leadscrew feed can be either manual or powered. The 100mm-wide ribbed prism bed manufactured from grey cast iron, as well as its guideways, is induction-hardened and ground for sturdiness. This bench lathe features change gears for both metric and imperial thread cutting as follows: • Metric thread steps & pitch range = 14 (0.25 - 3mm) • Imperial thread steps & TPI range = 12 (8 - 44") Standard fitment is a swarf tray and splash guard at the rear to keep waste away from important machine parts. Moreover, the little lathe comes supplied with an extensive range of accessories, including service tools. Compact enough to fit into a corner of the workshop, the feature-packed Optimum TU-2004V Bench Lathe is bang for your buck. Visit www.machineryhouse.com.au/l687 and find out more! Offer expires 5th February 2017.
