Hillbiwy produce is about slow grown food. Growing food as it used to be. We specialise in free range poultry and eggs. what and why is Hillbilly Produce.
A few years back i got sick of cracking an egg into the frypan only to have the white cover the whole base of the frypan and i think … this can't be good food.
So i finally got back into having chickens of my own, i gave away spare eggs and people wanted more.
So more chooks.
Then i tried growing some meat chickens and when friends tried them they wanted more!!
Why was this so?
I was buying the chickens off one of the best suppliers around adelaide who milled his own feed. So to keep the chickens the best i started to learn how to do that as well because healthy chooks= happy chooks =happy healthy eggs.
He would not give me the recipe for his diet so i had to start searching around.
So a combination of freshly milled feed, outdoor runs where they see the sun, grasses and feed planted for their consumption and variety is why i believe there is a demand for these products.
We try and grow things sloooow and steady for your enjoyment.
We are growing and making available turkey eggs in season, chicken eggs, day olds up to egg laying(when available) fresh poultry meat-chicken ,turkey, pheasant and guinea fowl.
All grown free range while also supplying the freshly milled feed to you, the same as we feed to the birds.

Hi everyone we have another batch of free range antibiotic free chicken this saturday- whole birds and pieces. We have just processed a batch of layers for winter soups and stock - normally $8 /kg but only $6 / kg this sat. Spend $40 or more at the stall and maybe get them cheaper???! If you purchase $30 or more of chicken there is a clove of yeralina organic garlic waiting for as well! Dont forget we are now where Wakefield Grange was! See you sat, thanks dave.

We have some marylands, breast fillets, drumsticks and whole birds from 1.5 -3 kg all grown in the sunshine and our freshly milled feed for a juicy flavoured chicken. All available this sat morning at Adelaide Hills Farmers Market see you there. We now have card facilities for those who require it.

We mix the feed for our birds fresh so they can get the best out of the grains and have the healthiest life. The diets have been developed by lienert australia to include wheat , peas, meat meal and soymeal. We have added molasses, lucerne, apple cider vinegar and garlic, diamouaceous earth and natrakelp. The small bird feed also has cayenne pepper and turkey feed also has oregano.We purchase the grains and legunes direct from farmers in the mid north and murraylands,the meat meal is from a local manufacturer, the soy is GM FREE from Qld and molasses-acv&g- DE and natrakelp are australian made products suitable for organic farm imputs. We are making these products available at the market for those people who want the freshest quality feed for their own birds. To make sure they are available pls order via msg before thurs lunchtime. The are available in Chick starter, Broiler grower, Layer pullet, andLayer. The prices at the moment are 5kg $8 10kg $16 20kg $30 non members pricing
