The Perth Choral Institute strives to deliver first class training and education in choral singing to all developing vocal students in Western Australia The Perth Choral Institute is an initiative of John Septimus Roe Anglican Community schools that provides training and education for developing choral singers throughout Western Australia. Our Gala Concert is less than six hours away! None of what has happened this week would be possible without the support of our partner, John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, and in particular their Principal - Mr Matthew Hughes JP. JSRACS have not only provided the rehearsal space that our choir, consorts and soloists have utilised throughout the eight days, but also have underwritten the cost of the Summer Choral Course, including hire fees, accommodation, transport, food and salaries. The Perth Choral Institute wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the role that JSRACS have played in our inaugural season.

The final performance for the PCI Choir is two weeks today. St George's Cathedral have kindly allowed the Choir to sing Evensong at 5pm on Sunday January 22. Christope Karas has returned to Perth from Cambridge to conduct the service, and is joined by Jonathan Bradley on Organ. Music includes Stanford's Beati Quorum Via, and the Collegium Regale Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by Howells. A drinks reception to celebrate the concluding of the first Choral Summer School will take place immediately after the service. It would be great to see as many of you as possible at the cathedral to join us in congratulating the PCI Choir for all of their hard work.

Our Gala Concert is two weeks away today! At 7:30pm in the Perth Town Hall on Friday 20 January the PCI Choir will sing a mix of Opera, Jazz, Classical, Contemporary & Popular Choral works. Selected members of the choir, recommended by the Course Vocal Tutors will also perform as soloists. Marilyn Phillips and Hugh Lydon will conduct, supported by Jonathan Bradley on the piano.
