An extensive testimonial from a very satisfied customer !!!! Our Pool is an 11 metre FBI fiberglass pool installed in 1989. Over more recent times (past 10 years ) it had slowly been distorted by water running underneath the shell and by some Cocos palms pushing in on the sides. Each year with summer storms the bottom started to crinkle and the sides bulged even more until in 2014 the pool started to loose water. I contacted Graham Beagley from E-Tanks to have a look at the pool and give me his thoughts. As it turned out Graham showed me before and after photos of the pool restorations that he had done and also gave me an extensive history of his plastic/polymer & fibre experience. Graham explained and quoted on what he needed to do and how he would go about repairing our pool. As the quote was not significantly more than the cost of removing the pool and remediating our garden, we accepted the quote and agreed to go ahead. E- tanks had a busy schedule and it was several months before they could start the job. In the meantime we went on a European holiday. As the pool was leaking I turned the pool systems off and left the water to fall which stablised at about the half way mark. Finally Graham and his labourer turned up to start work on the pool but found that under the dirty water damage to the pool had continued to progress due to the low water level. The botom had heaved at least by a metre the shell was badly torn in one corner and both long sides had bulged badly (one by more than .5 of a metre.) More work, than covered by the original quote, was required. Graham really frightened me when he started to talk about cutting the pool straight up the middle to replace the sand under the bottom and then cutting along the badly distorted side to remove the tree roots and debris to restore the profile. Our pool also had some bad blistering of the surface finish (osmosis) and Graham explained how he would remove this and apply some special fine membrane in the final layers of the new coating to prevent this in the future. We agreed and gave the go ahead. 15/12/2016 The team braced the pool to stop it from moving as they pumped it dry and then the full extent of the damage became evident – it looked, to me, to be a hopeless case, but Graham assured me that he and his team were up to the job. They proceeded to cut the pool up the middle of the bottom, restored the bottom profile and did the same to the side. After re joining the sections and removing all of the osmosis blisters they roughed and cleaned the entire shell before applying new layers of glass, fibre, membrane and finish coats including anti-slip finish on the steps and ledges. The process took about 3 weeks and all effort was taken to protect surrounding garden. The work area was sealed and evacuated to capture dust generated by the process. It is now 2 years since the renovation and we are very happy with the end result. We have a pool that is stronger than the original and resistant to osmosis. I have no reservation in recommending E-tanks for fiberglass pool renovations. Graham Beagley knows the business and may be blunt but honest in making recommendations. I believe that if he says he can do it then he can.
