GRASS SEED WARNING: A friendly reminder to check your pets coats for grass seeds as summer approaches. Already we have seen numerous cases of grass awns lodging between pet's toes, in their ears and in their coats....ouch!!! Grass seeds can puncture the skin and/or migrate deep down in ear canals, likely resulting in infection and discomfort for your pet :(. To reduce the chance of issues - minimise your pets time spent wandering through overgrown grass, keep their coat short (in particular the fur around their feet) and regularly examine them for any pesky seeds. If in doubt, drop in and see us at the clinic - we are here to help!!

ONYX (BOMBAY BURMESE) IS LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME: Onyx is a patient of the Ivanhoe Vet Clinic and her owners have had to make the tough decision to find her a new home. Onyx is a beautiful black Bombay Burmese female and she's 5 years old. Onyx is an inside/outside kitty. She loves sun baking and chasing butterflies, she's not a bird catcher...! And rarely does she climb trees, though she is known to be adventurous! She also loves sitting on laps and on heating ducts in wintertime... not to mention night time snuggles. Onyx is a cat that will follow you around where ever you are, whether you are gardening outside or doing the wonderful task of housecleaning, she's always close by! Onyx does like children but her patience does wear out after a while, so she would probably be more suited to an adult or elderly home. A family with older children (above the ages of 5) may be suitable. She travels really we in the car, normally doing 3hrs at a time :) Onyx is fully up to date with all of her vaccinations and eats dry dental biscuits (hills t/d)as her main diet. If you are interested in adopting Onyx, or know of anyone who may be interested, please contact Megan directly via email - meganammavuta@gmail.com or phone 0423799955
