War On Waste

This week is International Composting Awareness Week. Food waste is a massive issue in Australia, contributing 4.5 million tonnes of waste to landfill and producing 3% of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions every year. But we can stop this and it all begins with you. Check out ‘War on Waste’ – part 1 on 16 May (Tuesday) at 8:30pm on ABC to discover how much waste we produce as a nation and learn what we can do about it. Our Year 11 English students were treated to a wonderful performance today of Macbeth by the Complete Works Theatre Company. Macbeth is one of their required readings for this year, and having a live performance of the piece along with an informative Q&A session afterwards really helps the students understand the text!

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

Brentwood students across all years get the chance to participate in a wide range of athletic events including sprints, relays, high jump, long jump, triple jump, discus, shotput and javelin during our athletics carnival. Those students that place high in these events also have the opportunity to represent the college at regional competitions.
