Sheetmetal workers and steel fabricators, producing high quality sheetmetal products since 1945 Thorburns was established by edward chalres thorburn in 1949. starting in manufacturing products for the food industry the business grew and began the manufacture of forklift cabs for a number of companys including clark and mitsubishi. in recent years we have moved into specialty work for the mining industry for companys including toshiba and weg. through over 60 years of experience and 3 generations, thorburns can provide you with a wide range of services including welding CNC turret punching, bending and all your general fabrication needs.
In recent years we have seen a growing demand for quality aftermarket products for the 4wd industry. here at Thorburns we have began the production of products to suit many late model 4wds. check our online store to see whats available!

Before we could get on the trails with the coiled troopy, we took it to the gurus at Toronto Tyrepower and Westlakes 4x4 center to have the 5 link rear set up properly. The gents here are the best in the game and really know their stuff. After having a few weeks to ourselves to relax we are now back and ready for a huge 2017 at Thorburns! Its already shaping up to be another year of firsts here with our troopy undergoing a rear coil conversion. The big white bus is now a force to be reckoned with on the trails! We are happy to announce we have been invited to attend our first Diesel, Dirt and Turf expo in Sydney in April. We will be there showing off all our 4wd products! We are also planning to get back to Tocal field days as last years show was a huge success for us! We look forward to working closely with our retailers, suppliers and customers this year to provide the best possible 4wd products we can. Heres to a Happy New Year and a massive 2017! With only only one working day left for 2016 we are wrapping things up with the finishing touches to this Dual cab Landcruiser build we did. The customer opted for our full aluminium tray/canopy design with underbody toolboxes. The interior has been left relatively bare with only a fridge slide and battery and fuse box fitted. the final pieces fitted to this cruiser came in the form of mounts for his spare tyre, jerry can and gas bottle and a 4"stainless steel snorkel. All 2 PAK colour coded. We are now taking orders for 2017 so for any more info on our canopies feel free to contact us at sales@thorburns.com.au.

Heres a little something we have cooked up here at thorburns. Its sometimes the most basic innovations that are the most rewarding. Here we have one of the first of our new universal jerry can holders. This one has been fitted to our popular troopy rear bar platform. The cutouts in the corners have been specially designed to accomodate the frontrunner water jerry can. These have an easy access tap tucked out of harms way in the corner of the can. Combining these jerry cans with our holders will give you easy access to drinkable water without risking damage to an exposed tap on the trails. Stay tuned for pricing and availability in the new year!

They are having an open day and Thorburns Fabrication have been invited to exhibit our awesome 4x4 gear there. Both Josh and myself will be there to answer questions on all of our products. Even though we are flat out like lizards drinking, we found some time in the ungodly hours of the night to fit a 4 inch lift and 35s to our burgandy Landcruiser ute, complete with our prototype radius arms . Now for a full stainless snorkel and intake and a custom tray and fridgebox and this one will be ready for anything!!
