By taking an accurate impression of your teeth we can ensure that the mouthguard fits well, is comfortable and will act as an even shock absorber if your lower jaw is hit. We have 35 great colours to choose from and we can include your name and phone number into the mouthguard in case you accidentally lose it!

Toothbrush Abrasion Often patients are surprised to hear that it is possible to "overbrush" their teeth. Brushing your teeth plays an important role in maintaining oral health however in some cases it is possible to cause damage to the gums and teeth. Scrubbing too hard in a back and forward motion can over time contribute to gum recession which exposes the root surface of the tooth. The root surface is less wear resistant than enamel making it more susceptible to being worn away by brushing too hard. This leads to a characteristic notch defect developing in the side of the tooth near the gumline which can cause tooth sensitivity or in some cases weaken the tooth. A few tips to prevent "overbrushing" include: - Use a soft toothbrush - Brush your teeth using a gentle circular motion when brushing the sides of the teeth. Avoid scrubbing back and forward - Avoid brushing your teeth within 30 minutes of consuming any acidic drinks such as fruit juice because the surface of the tooth is less wear resistant. - Many electric toothbrushes have pressure sensors to alert you if too much pressure is being applied. - Regularly attend dental check-up appointments because we can detect and manage early signs of abrasion If you have any dental questions that you would like answered, feel free to send us a facebook message :)
