Trap Bar Deadlift (also known as a Hex Bar) - Target muscle: quadriceps, gluteus maximus & the erectors (lower back) - 1 - You will need a trap bar. Load the trap bar with weight that your capable of lifting. If going to lift a heavy weight for your sets, make sure you warm up with lighter weights up to your working set. 2 - Start with the weight resting on the ground. Stand in the center of the trap bar and grab both handles. 3 - Now you need to tighten your upperback by bringing your shoulders back (retracting them). Then lower your hips, look forward with your head and keep your chest up. 4 - Begin the movement by driving through the heels and extend your hips and knees. 5 - After the movement, lower the weight back to the ground under control. ***Avoid the temptation to use a weight so big that your back starts to round. This will put you at a great risk to injure your back.

V Bar Pulldown - Target muscle: latissimus dorsi - @allanaustralia - 1 - Sit down on a pull-down machine with a V-Bar attached. Adjust the knee pad of the machine to fit your height. 2 - Grab the V-bar with the palms facing each other (a neutral grip). Stick your chest out and lean yourself back slightly (around 30-degrees) in order to better engage the lats. This is your starting position. 3 - Using your lats, pull the bar down as you squeeze your shoulder blades. Continue to pull it down towards your collar bone and your chest will nearly hit the bar. Exhale as you execute this motion. Try to keep your torso as stationary as possible throughout the movement. 4 - Then slowly bring the bar back to the starting position as you breathe in.
