There is still approximately 10 seats available on our bus to Snake Gully. For those interested please drop into the pub and see one of our friendly staff about purchasing your ticket. As previously mentioned they are $40 each, which includes a BBQ breakfast, bus trip, entry into the races and refreshments on the bus! We will be departing from the beer garden at approximately 10:30AM and we hope to see you there.

*** Friday Night Pick the Joker *** This Friday night our Pick the Joker Jackpot is $2150! Every drink purchased between 5:30PM and 7:30PM gets you a ticket into the draw. Even if you're unsuccessful in picking the joker you still win a jug of beer, so you come away a winner regardless. We also draw a "runner-up" jug of beer. Hope to see you all at the Central this Friday night.

*** What's on at the Central this week!!! *** Sorry for the somewhat late edition of what's on, should be what's left at the Central this week. A big week for the pub as we welcome back touch footy season! Best of luck to our Womens touch teams who kick off their season tonight and our Mens touch teams who play tomorrow night. No doubt we will see some of you back at the pub for a few refreshments post game. Friday nights CanAssist Raffle is for 2 x 1/2 Lamb Trays. Tickets are available now at the bar and will be available off Tommy and the boys Friday night in their usual seats! Tickets cost $2 or 3 for $5. Saturday sees the 3rd Round of our Spring Racing Tipping Competition. So far it is a close race with our two leaders on 31 points and another three people breathing down their necks on 30 points. Please make sure to get your tips in before Race 1 on Saturday to ensure you don't miss out on any points. The Final Round will be on Tuesday for Melbourne Cup Day, where the races usually start early, so it might pay to come in that little bit earlier on Tuesday morning to submit your entries. Sunday - We have Poker on from 2PM and "Toss the Boss" runs from 4-5PM.

*** What's on at the Central this week!!! *** Tuesday - Trivia starts at 7:30PM tonight. Everyone is welcome to come down and put in a team, entry is free and there are a few little prizes to be won. The kitchen is open from 5:45PM and with their extensive new menu, there is sure to be something for everyone. Friday - "Pick the Joker" Jackpot this Friday is worth $2100! Every drink purchased between 5:30PM - 7:30PM gets a ticket into the draw. The CanAssist Raffle this Friday is 2 x Batemans Bay Prawn Trays. Tickets are available now from the bar, $2 each or 3 for $5. Saturday - Round 2 of the Spring Racing Tipping Competition is Cox Plate Day at Moonee Valley. Tipsters are required to select ONE horse in each race on the card. A picture of the leaderboard will be uploaded shortly. Sunday - "Toss the Boss" runs from 4PM - 5PM, if you guess the toss correctly, your round is on us! "Terms and Conditions" apply.

Sorry to spam everyone's Facebook feeds (not actually that sorry) but just letting you know that our Friday night Pick the Joker is up to $2050 tomorrow night! Every drink purchased from 5:30pm gets you a ticket into the draw. If you're lucky enough to get a pick of the board and are successful, you scoop the pool. If not, well, you still get a jug of beer. There is also a "runner up" draw for a jug of beer, so don't throw away your tickets too quickly. In addition to this Tom, Raso, Jimmy and Roy have their CanAssist Meat Raffle tickets available at the bar now. This week they are drawing 2 x 1/2 Lamb Trays, with tickets $2 each or 3 for $5. Snake Gully Cup

Another competition we are again running is our Alphabet Punters comp. This one is a great option even for those that don't know much about horse racing. The concept is simple, the competition is limited to 26 entrants who are each randomly assigned a starting letter. If you draw the letter A in week one, you receive 1 point for every winner in Sydney and Melbourne (main meeting) on the starting Saturday. From week to week you progress through the alphabet for the 26 week duration and whoever accumulates the most points at the end of the competition is declared the winner and gets the choccies! Entry costs $20 each, with everyone contesting for a total prize pool of $520! Spots are filling up rapidly, with approximately half already sold. So if you wish to take part, entry can be purchased at the bar today. Best of luck everyone!

It's back again, the Spring Carnival is upon us! At the Central we are again running our Spring Racing Tipping Competition, kicking off with Caulfield Cup Day this Saturday 15th October! The competition is simple - all you have to do is select ONE horse in each race of the nominated venue over the next 4 major race days. Points are awarded to tipsters on a 3-2-1 basis where a winner receives 3 points, second place receives 2 points and third place receives 1 point. The competition runs over the following dates: Caulfield Cup Day - 15th October Cox Plate Day - 22nd October VRC Derby Day - 29th October Melbourne Cup Day - 1st November The prize break down for the competition is: 60% of the prize pool for 1st Place 30% of the prize pool for 2nd Place 10% of the prize pool for 3rd Place It has proved over the past few years to be a fun little competition for "serious punters", beginners and the just plain competitive at heart! Everyone is welcome and there is NO cut off on numbers of entrants, the more people that chance their hand means the bigger the prize we all play for. Entry costs $20 per tipster and is payable at the bar, just see one of our friendly staff members.
