Horse racing is all about good fun and good times. Join Doug Gorrel Racing for plenty of both ... and lots of winners too! Doug Gorrel started his racing stable in early 2016 at Thoroughbred Park, Canberra. His first winner came at Cowra with bonny mare Liabilityadjuster.
Doug had previously worked with some of Canberra's stables and has had a lifelong love of racing - as a mug punter, bookies' clerk, racehorse owner, racing journalist, jockey manager and owner-trainer.
But Doug most enjoys conditioning horses for others - as there is no greater thrill in racing than sharing in a win with owners - who invariably are, or become, lifelong friends, or family.

We would like to welcome and introduce the newest member of the DGR team - CHIEF OF ARLINGTON. Louie is a 2yo brown gelding by Arlington and Ease Louise. We can't wait to get this boy racing and see what he has to offer. Congratulations to his owners!

DGR was thrilled to catch up with good friends - Peter and Tat Dowdle, at Nowra races on NYE. Tat Dowdle was seen holding the bag for her son Adrian Dowdle, who has joined his father among the bookies' ranks and primarily fields at Kembla Grange. The Dowdle name has long been among the Riverina's top bookies - right up there with the Pattons and Burns families. Good luck to Adrian - I'm sure we'll see him on the rails in Sydney one day.
