This is a beautiful hadith from Imam Ali (as) reminding us of 2 things. 1. Allah (swt) is always testing us - whether we are in a state of comfort and ease or hardship and struggle. 2. That in both instances we are expected to display a certain character. In the state of ease & comfort, we should remain grateful for the blessings & situation we are experiencing. In the state of hardship & struggle, we should remain patient and seek help from Allah (swt). May Allah (swt) help us all practice these characteristics. The illuminations department also wishes to congratulate you all on the arrival of the holy month of Sha'baan - the Month of Prophet Muhammad (saw). May all your efforts and prayers be accepted by the Almighty.

As-Salaam Alaikum Dear Parents, The Illuminations department at Bellfield College will be conducting an individualised training program (Prayer Perfection Training) on the method of Salaat (daily prayers) and the manners associated with its performance. Each student in year 4 to 12 will be individually assessed and trained in the knowledge of the actions of Salaat and the manner of its performance including the prerequisites like wudhu. This is a compulsory activity for all the students in the above classes. Individual progress sheets will then be provided for your reference highlighting the areas of weakness which your child has shown. It will be expected that your child works on the improvements wherever necessary with your assistance. The training will be held throughout the year and the results will be released to you at the end of each session. This will allow you to work with your child on any areas that require improvement. The training program will commence in week 2 of Term 2. We look forward to your support and co-operation in this. Wassalaam alaikum, Illuminations Department

HARMONY DAY Bellfield College had its annual multicultural/ harmony day on the 21st of March. It was an excellent day for both the students and teachers as they learnt about various cultures that make up our College. The students were encouraged to wear their traditional clothes and bring a plate of traditional food. On the day Bellfield was a showground of fascinating and bright colours that portrayed each culture. We also had a No Bullying campaign on the day to which the students reacted positively and learnt many lessons. Our best dressed competition was won by Shazda Qambari and Mustafa Khalili. We had a soccer match with all its enthusiasm and fun as the students enjoyed lunch and watching the thrilling games go on. Overall a fantastic day. Year 6B Newsletter Article Dear Parents, Year 6B has taken off to a great start this year. On the 29th of February, the four captains of Junior school were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to attend The National Young Leaders Day Event at Allphones Arena. The program consisted of talks, videos and interactive activities designed to help students explore what it means to lead themselves and others in today’s world, with a key focus on ‘mastering the little’. It was here that the students were able to learn about critical leadership skills and values in an inspirational and rewarding environment. Within Science, Year 6 have been learning about marvellous microorganisms. In particular, they have been examining the role of yeast in the bread-making process and the appropriate conditions that allow yeast to thrive. Students have really enjoyed the hands-on component in this unit and have come a long way in their knowledge on yeast. Warm regards, Miss Bazouni
