Significant restoration works are underway on the Queen Victoria monument in Rosalind Park. Queen Victoria has been on display for over 100 years and the cleaning and conservation work will refresh the sculpture and ensure she is presentable for the next 100 years :)

Temporary fencing has gone up as part of preparation for works to begin on the RSL Soldiers Memorial Institute revitalisation project. The project includes the conservation of the iconic building and the development of a new exhibition gallery with climate control features, storage and preparation areas. Restoration works will include a total roof replacement, new sky lights, external render repairs and a new exterior wash coat to replicate the original stone coloured finish.

Meet Lola, one of our many customers yesterday :) Of course she wasn’t supposed to be out adventuring and thankfully someone brought her into our office. Because she had a microchip and was registered, we were able to quickly reunite her with her owner and there were happy smiles all around :D Is your pet’s microchip and registration up to date?

The 2017/2018 proposed Budget will continue to invest in maintaining critical infrastructure such as roads, footpaths and drainage. The capital works budget will see $2M go towards building new and upgrading and expanding existing footpaths across the municipality. New shared pathways will be constructed in White Hills and Ascot, and footpath upgrades will happen on High Street, Strickland Road, Sullivans Road, Wattle Street, Panton Street and Barnard Street. Across the municipality, $9.2M will go towards renewing sealed roads, $3.2M towards renewing unsealed roads and $3.3M towards maintaining drainage. The proposed Budget is available at http://www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/budget Submissions on the proposed Budget are open until May 19, 2017.
